2008 VTXS Event Schedule

[please note:  the VTXS event schedule includes our own events as well as non VTXS events that we usually attend]

February 15-18: Winter Romp (non VTXS Event) http://www.winterromp.org/

March 22: MBPX (Mabell / Pintu’s Expedition) A great tread lightly way to start the VTXS event season. Mabell is one of the few trails in the northeast that we can feel good about wheeling in April. An all-out run out and back followed by a sumptuous meal at Pintu’s Indian Restaurant in W. Springfield, MA, then Starbucks coffee, then home. A great new early season one-day event.

April 10:  Spruce Hill Run: A nice mid-week exploration of a trail in Western MA discovered by two of our members while studying topo maps of the area.

April 12-13:  VRCX (VTXS Rausch Creek Expedition):  We’ll leave Friday the 11th and camp for free at RCORP (http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org/) for the weekend.  This one is for the rock crawler in every expedition enthusiast.

May 3-4: PTBX (Pete the Beagle Trophy Expedition) Intra-club trials competition.  Plan is to take part in Woodstock, Vermont’s Greenup Day (http://www.greenupvermont.org) activities Sat. morning and then head over to Camp VTXS for the competition Sat afternoon, cookout at camp Sat night, light wheeling over to Long Trail on Sunday.  [Please note: VTXS guests and member applicants are welcome to attend, wheel up to camp and watch the competition, but not compete, as the coveted Trophy must go to a VTXS member).

May 16-18: Moose Trophy (Nova Scotia non VTXS event) http://www.maritimerovers.org/ VPKB has talked about doing this trip for a long time and this could be the year we go. Member Bruce Fowler has gone pretty much every year since its inception. This will be a very cool, camp as we go, extended weekend expedition. Plan to leave on Thursday, May 15 and return Monday, May 19.
